Welcome to John's
Detectors owned and operated by John & Connie Tomlinson in
Blackwell, Texas. Blackwell is 45 miles Southwest of Abilene.
Town population is about 300 souls. Hwy 70 runs through the center
of town.
John's Detectors is a part time business with full time customer
service. We are a customer oriented business with quality and
honesty as our foundation. We are not interested in the numbers
game to see how many detectors we can sell in a given time period.
I prefer
a face to face type of selling and service atmosphere so that
I can get to know the customer better. Of course, we are happy
to take your phone orders or Internet orders and ship to you promptly.
I make it a priority to see that the customer gets what they really
need for their situation instead of just trying to sell them the
most expensive instrument.
I welcome customers and even non-customers to call if you have
a query about an instrument or accessory that may need to be explained
to you more clearly. We do accept Mastercard and Visa credit cards
for your convenience.
As for myself, I have been detecting for 12 years now. It is a
great hobby which gets you outdoors and in the fresh air. I am
an Electronics Technician and have been working with instrumentation
used in the nuclear and radiation field for 15 years and that
is my full time job. I have been a Ham Radio Op. for over 22 years
and enjoy tinkering with electronics.
I like to search for relics and meteorites and hope to go prospecting
again someday. Ft. Chadbourne is a few miles Southeast of town
and is an old Army fort established in 1852. Blackwell was established
in the 1880's. The rolling plains in this area was home to many
Buffalo and Comanche Indians. If you listen very closely you can
still hear the war cries of the Comanche warriors at night around
the campfire.
John's Detectors will strive to add more quality products to our
lineup as time goes by and we always welcome any feedback from
our customers. Thank you for considering John's Detectors as your
supplier for instruments and accessories used in the metal detecting
field. God Bless all and Happy Hunting everyone.
